A425 Saltisford Improvements

Further to the public consultation on Warwick Town Centre in the summer of 2016, details of which can be found on Warwickshire Website.

Warwickshire County Council are proposing to make improvements to the A425 Saltisford / Northgate / Northgate Street / Barrack Street junction.

These improvements are part of the wider Warwick Town Centre scheme which aims to provide better connectivity into and across the town, reduce street clutter, improve the appearance of streets, change the footprint of junctions to allow space to be given over to other users and provide a more sensitive setting for historic buildings.

The improvements include proposals to prohibit the right turning manoeuvre for eastbound vehicles on the A425 Saltisford / Northgate at it’s junction with Northgate Street and to introduce a right turn only for all vehicles travelling in a north-easterly direction along Barrack Street into Northgate Street.

The proposed prohibitation of turning movements is required to provide a central public realm area at the junction of Saltisford / Northgate / Northgate Street / Barrack Street, with a road hump, and formalised pedestrian crossing points.

A copy of the plan showing the proposed locations of the traffic calming measures and a statements of the Council’s reasons for proposing to install them may be inspected at the Main Reception, Shire Hall, Market Place.

Any enquiries relating to the proposals may be made to Graham Stanley, Communities Group, 01926 412640.

Any objections to the proposals, which must be in writing and specify the grounds on which they are made, should be addresses to Graham Stanley, Communities Directorate, PO Box 43, Shire Hall, Warwick, CV34 4SX. Please note that the deadline for receiving objections is the 23rd August 2018.
