Octavian Droobers Orienting Club and Warwick District Council are pleased to announce the introduction of two orienteering trails around St Nicholas Park. A grant from Warwick District Council has been instrumental in the installation of these permanent courses.
The club has been busy drawing up the maps and assisting with installing coded and numbered posts around the park. A map complete with instructions can be downloaded free and in addition copies of the map are available free from the tea shop and leisure centre. It is a great way to explore the park on either the short, 1.9km course, or the longer 3.6km course.
The courses start and finish on a wall near the front of the tea shop (facing the crazy golf) and the aim is to proceed from point to point, in order, noting down the code letter – similar to a treasure hunt.
